The decorative arts studio services include: Investigation/documentation of original decorative paint schemes; decorative techniques such as gilding, glazing, marbleizing, stenciling, trompe l’oeil and graining; also, the creation, conservation, restoration and replication of murals, mosaics and other artwork. One of the oldest and largest stained glass studios in the United States, CSS is recognized for outstanding stained glass craftsmanship. In the 34,000 square foot facilities, artisans create, conserve and restore thousands of square feet of glass each year, including priceless windows by John LaFarge, Louis Comfort Tiffany and Mayer of Munich.

Creation of new and innovative designs. CSS artists work to provide a unified vision in a wide range of styles. Conrad Schmitt Studios provides interior decoration, stained glass and restoration for buildings of architectural, historic and religious significance. Many projects win national awards, including the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s coveted Honor Awards.
