Counter Solutions was formed in 1989 as a company dedicated to supplying the hospitality industry with the latest electronic point of sale technology. They quickly recognized the value of registering data at the point of sale and the markets complimentary need for rapid access to the management information it contained Early successes were in the Pub and Hotel & Restaurant sectors with large and medium sized single unit operations.

During the mid 90´s a new suite of back office stock management and electronic point of sale (EPoS) software applications opened up new markets within the Education and Leisure sector, where multiple sites required central control with multiple users requiring access to both sales and stock data. New technologies also allowed improved support levels with the capability of remote diagnostics.
Investments made in 1997 resulted in a new approach to cashless systems which soon caught the imagination of both hospitality operators and their financial controllers. Working closely with card manufacturers to ensure clients could select their smart card technologies freely from the developing market, the Counter Solutions offering is widely recognised as a true global option.
