NICOLAS BEARDE is a nationally recognized recording artist and is also a founding member of Bobby McFerrin's a cappella ensemble, "Voicestra." His most recent project is a delightfully entertaining Lou Rawls Tribute show, which he performs along with his jazz quartet, "The Right Groove." In this project, the music of the late Grammy winning vocalist is not mimicked but rather interpreted with Nicolas' own distinctive personality and musical sensibility. Nicolas doesn't just stand in front of the audience and sing though...he does a masterful job of drawing the audience into his show. He solicits audience participation in many songs and walks down the aisles to mingle and shake hands with the guests.
This tribute show, "Live at Yoshi's ~ A Salute to Lou" (which is now available on CD) was originally recorded live at Yoshi's Jazz House in October, 2007 and includes covers of other jazz greats.
