Standard, off-the-shelf technology is used in OndaCom’s system – Why? • Even our largest competitor will have no more that one or two hundred engineers on their staff. • Our “hardware and operating system staff” is every company on the planet that is engaged in making PCs “better, smaller, cheaper, faster." Intel and Dell as well as Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft are on our “staff." So are hundreds of small Taiwanese computer companies as well as thousands of programmers that work on the Linux operating system. Our “wireless and networking staff” includes such giants as Lucent’s Orinoco, Proxim and Linksys as well. • Best of all, OndaCom does not have to cut these millions of engineers a paycheck twice a month. Only when we actually use what they have done do we pay them. That keeps us cost efficient and better able to direct our resources toward better software development. • In choosing PCs as our platform we carefully weighed the resources of Akers, CDS, Bally Systems and other Slot Data System manufacturers against the resources of Bill Gates, Linus Torvald and Michael Dell. We think these last three guys are the horses to bet on in the future. • We feel that as IBM killed its own opportunity by insisting on proprietary PC technology increase their profits at their clients’ expense during the 1980s, so our competitors are utilizing proprietary technology in the 2000s. We are sure they will meet with the same results as IBM’s effort to monopolize the PC industry met years ago. Our prediction is that they will copy us and turn to PCs in the future. • All efforts have been made to use standard off the shelf technology to guarantee continuity and replace ability of OndaCom’s hardware components • Using PCs guarantees that our system will be able to take advantage of technological advances that occur in the computer industry.
