U.S. Poker Tour

For the first time in its history, poker has an organization that supports and promotes it from its grassroots to the highest levels of professional competition, encouraging the legitimate growth of the sport and reinforcing its popularity. The U.S. Poker Tour (USPT) is driven by its membership. Only member casinos and card rooms can host USPT events and only member players can participate. The U.S. Poker Tour Player Strength Index (PSI) is similar to a golf handicap. By comparing player’s tournament performances through a proprietary formula developed by U.S. Poker, each player will be assigned a “PSI Rating” once they have competed in at least ten USPT events. Every tournament result thereafter will affect the player’s PSI. While certain players may have more opportunity to participate in USPT events and gain more ranking points, the PSI will more closely estimate the relative skill of each player. The USPT National Player Ranking System provides a legitimate way to rank players and create a structure in which a true, professional tour can exist. Being a professional and playing poker for a living is now a real possibility for every poker player, at every level. Using the Tiered Tournament System, members have the opportunity to add to their Points Ranking by participating in our brand events and by playing in “live games” at USPT Member Casinos and Card Rooms.
