Automatic Systems’ product line of Optical Portals & Gates, Full-Height Turnstiles, Tripod Turnstiles, Waist-Height Turnstiles, Barrier Gates, Vehicle Blockers and Bollards are reliable, require little maintenance, and can interface with any access control system. Designed for continuous 24/7 operation in very high traffic situations, our systems are designed for ease of operation and maintenance. Corporations understand the damage that could be created by unwanted intruders. Aesthetics and physical needs may be the reason that Automatic Systems Optical Portals were chosen but security is the reason that many , corporate headquarters, banks and financial institutions use them in their headquarters, on their trading floors and in their It departments today. Many of AS customers were wise enough to understand that prior to 9/11. The physical barriers produced by Optical Portals, created by glass panels, eliminated the need for excessive audible alarms. They created a barrier that makes running through, climbing under or jumping over virtually impossible. Today they are available in the standard 380 series or the ADA compliant 390 series. Optical Portals operate from the closed position and the glass panels open within ½ second only upon receiving a valid signal from a card reader or biometric systems. There is no possibility of a casual walk through or a stealth crash through.

All of that expertise has culminated in the design of the versatile BL-229. It was created to adapt to variety of security applications. This latest model combines all the knowledge and know-how that was used in creating the 30 different models put out by this industry leader and with it makes a giant leap into product standardization, versatility and reduced delivery times. Automatic Systems’ barrier gates are designed to restrict vehicular access into critical areas or locations that might be susceptible to un-authorized access. A large range of additional accessories (rigid or flexible skirts, electromechanical or electromagnetic locking tips, flashing lights, stop signs, and many other options) can equip the BL-229 to comply with the main objective: "One model…All applications."
