Nepal: Truce sought by fugitive

28 February 2011

KATHMANDU, Nepal -- An Indian businessman is seeking a truce with Nepal over the casinos he once owned, SIFY India News reported.

Rakesh Wadhwa owes the Nepalese government NRS 224 million in taxes, the report explained.

The businessman, who fled Nepal last year, says he would return to Nepal and negotiate if the arrest warrant against him is dropped, SIFY India News said.

There could be a decision in the case sometime this week, the report noted.
