Pressure on Nova Scotia Govt for more study after report

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia -- The recent release by the Nova Scotia government of a gambling impact study has seen calls for more study and investigation, the Canadian Press reported.

The study estimated that there were six suicides per year in the province from gambling addiction, the report said.

The study was not released to the public for two years and this has been criticized by families of suicide victims, along with calls for more study into the topic of gambling addiction and suicide, the Canadian Press report said.
