Shuffle Master, DEQ sign deal

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Shuffle Master, Inc. (NASDAQ Global Select Market: SHFL) and DEQ Systems Corporation (TSXV: DEQ) announced today that the two companies have entered into a cross-licensing agreement whereby DEQ has granted Shuffle Master an exclusive license to its G3 product and related intellectual property for use with Shuffle Master table game content and Shuffle Master has granted DEQ a non-exclusive sublicense to the Progressive Gaming International Corporation (PGIC) jackpot wagering hardware and method patents for which Shuffle Master obtained the last license rights in October 2006. Under the terms of the agreement, each license and sublicense will terminate when the last related patent expires. Specific financial terms were not disclosed.

The DEQ G3 Table Game Bonusing and Jackpot System is a credit based multiple betting electronic side betting system that utilizes a variety of hardware and software components for live and electronic casino games. It is a fully adaptable and customizable networked platform that enhances table game play with a variety of side betting, bonusing and random prize options including Magic Card™ and Lucky Player™ prizes. The licensing agreement enables DEQ to utilize the PGIC patents on non-Shuffle Master table games and related products utilizing the G3 system worldwide, and allows Shuffle Master to be the exclusive provider of the G3 system on its suite of table game products including its live specialty games, multi-player electronic platforms and wireless wagering devices.
