Curtition Accordion Style Partitions since 1949 Made in USA VL-8 SOUND DIVIDER Our BEST PERFORMING and MOST POPULAR partition. It has a Sound Transmission Classification (STC) of 40 and is designed for higher noise areas. Four layers of continuous insulating materials form blankets on each side of the steel frame. Each blanket is a full three layers of vinyl with 1/2" of fiberglass. The outer covering (carpet, fabric or vinyl) is added to give a full 10 layer partition plus a dead-air space in the center of the frame. Outer covering seams are located in the most recessed spot on the hinge to be as unobtrusive as possible. VL-6 SOUND DIVIDER For those installations not requiring the maximum sound rating, yet looking for a balance between price and performance. The VL-6 has a Sound Transmission Classification (STC) of 38. Partition is lined with three layers of sewn vinyl blankets. Outer covering (carpet, fabric or vinyl) is added for a total of eight sound deadening materials. Outer covering seams are located in the most recessed spot on the hinge to be as unobtrusive as possible. VL-2 SOUND DIVIDER For those situations where minimal sound rating is sufficient and sound levels are normally low requiring less sound deadening material, the VL-2 is your answer, an excellent VALUE for the cost conscious. When coupled with carpet or fabric outer coverings, it provides excellent performance. The VL-2 has two layers of vinyl liners on each side of the steel frame to provide six layers of material from side to side. The VL-2 utilizes the same frame, trolley and track system as found on the VL-6 and VL-8. Features Frame: 14 Gauge steel plate type hinges forming rows not to exceed 3'6" apart. Track: No. 5 with 1" steel ball bearing wheels with nylon tires. Sub-channel and ceiling guard available for concealed or exposed track installations. Carriers: No. 5 with 1" steel ball bearing wheels with nylon tires. Hardware: Partitions over 9' high have standard pendant pulls. Sound Retardant Liners: Steel/fiberboard panels with vinyl/fiberglass blankets layered on each side. Perimeter Seals: 3-Ply latex rubber strips of a neutral color at top and bottom of both sides. Lead and anchor posts seal into sound sealing angles with felt. General: Partitions are top supported without floor guides. They have a steel frame of collapsible and extensive plate hinges to provide true pantograph action at top, bottom and necessary intermediate locations not to exceed 3'6" apart on any partition over 6'8" in height. Hinge plates are welded to 3/16" diameter rods to resist side sway and to insure balanced action and prevent warping. Track: No. 5 aluminum "I" beam extrusion construction with a special taper for smooth operation and to prevent chattering. All blocking and track support must be level. Carriers: 4-wheel units at lead post and 2-wheel units at every hinge point not to exceed 11" apart. Steel wheels with nylon tires with heavy duty ball bearings. Outer Coverings: Fastened to frame by rivets through concealed webbing double stitched to inside surface. Rivets shall not penetrate outer coverings. Outer covering shall be manufacturer’s standard selections. Hardware: One piece satin chrome pull latch w/knobs for operation of latch. Will accommodate Schlages #22-001 lazy cam action cylinder locks. Guarantee: Fully guaranteed for five years against defects in material and/or workmanship.
