Each light controller has embedded intelligence that controls dimming, ramping, fading, patterns, and a number of other light effects. These are all handled locally relieving the controlling processor of handling tedious details. One command can instruct the controller to perform complex lighting effects. The controllers also have the ability to memorize scenes and groups allowing multiple lights to be controlled by a single command.

The Animated Lighting™ Monster Brain™ executes built-in or custom programs to manage the various controllers networked within your system. For lighting control, Monster Brain supports a total of 4,096 channels (each controlling one or more light, light strings, or other controlled circuit). There can be up to 256 controllers connected to one Monster Brain for light, DMX, sound, digital, relay, input, and servo support.
