2023 Annual Native American Award of Achievement presented to Tracy Sam and Jason Cozart

29 March 2023

(PRESS RELEASE) -- On behalf of Imagine This, the Annual Native American Award of Achievement has been presented to two exceptional individuals, Tracy Sam and Jason Cozart. The award recognizes outstanding contributions and commitment to the Native American community in the gaming industry.

Tracy Sam has been with Grand Casino Mille Lacs in Minnesota since its opening in 1991 and has worked her way up to General Manager. Tracy has extensive knowledge of the gaming industry and has always put the interests of the tribe and its members first. She values her family and associates, who have become her work family, and maintains a strong work-life balance. Tracy's work ethic is undeniable and she is an inspiration to all who work with her.

Jason Cozart has worked for Soboba Casino Resort in California for 27 years and has held positions in every department of the casino, currently serving as the Assistant General Manager. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Jason provided constant updates to the entire Soboba workforce and ensured that his employees were well-informed and supported. His honesty and immediate communication were greatly appreciated by his colleagues and made a significant impact on their well-being.

The Native American Award of Achievement is a new annual award presented to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and service to the Native American community in the gaming industry. The award was established on behalf of Imagine This and The Indian Gaming Association to recognize and honor outstanding individuals who have made notable contributions to the industry.

"We are thrilled to present the first Native American Award of Achievement to Tracy Sam and Jason Cozart," said Joseph Guiste, [Imagine This]. "Both Tracy and Jason have shown exemplary dedication to their work and their communities, and we are honored to recognize their achievements. We hope that this award shows our appreciation for the hard work ethic that it takes to succeed within the gaming industry and our appreciation for the Native American community."
