Boyd gaming taps executives

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Boyd Gaming Corp., the owner of 17 casinos in Nevada and six other states, named Josh Hirsberg its senior vice president and chief financial officer. He will succeed Paul Chakmak, who will become operating chief in January.

The new CFO has 17 years of experience in the gaming industry, the Las Vegas-based company said Tuesday in a statement. His last job was as finance chief at Las Vegas resort developer EdgeStar Partners, the company said.

Separately, Boyd Gaming named Vice President and Controller Jeff Santoro its senior vice president and treasurer. Santoro, joined the company in 1997 and will report to Hirsberg. Both appointments begin Jan. 1, the company said.
