Boyd Gaming wins magazine awards

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Winning accolades from casino customers across the nation, Boyd Gaming Corporation's (NYSE: BYD - News) 17 properties received 210 awards in Casino Player magazine's "Best of Gaming" edition.

Now in its 12th year, awards in the annual competition are based on votes by Casino Player readers from across the country. The magazine presented awards in 22 regions around the country; Boyd Gaming casinos competed in eight regions, capturing a total of 87 first-place awards.

The company posted particularly strong performances in the Atlantic City and Las Vegas Locals markets, receiving more than half of the first-place awards up for grabs in those regions. Borgata finished first in 31 of 46 categories in Atlantic City, while Sam's Town Las Vegas and The Orleans teamed up to top 29 of the 56 categories in the Las Vegas Locals market. Borgata and Sam's Town Las Vegas were also named Best Overall Hotel-Casino in their respective markets.

Borgata led all Boyd Gaming properties with 46 awards, followed by Sam's Town Shreveport with 35. Other notable performances were posted by Sam's Town Las Vegas (30 awards), The Orleans (27 awards) and Main Street Station (24).
