Five more Las Vegas Strip casinos ready to go

12 June 2020

Last week, Nevada began reopening casinos across the state. Many waited nearly three months for the Las Vegas Strip to welcome back guests into its resorts.

On Reopening Day, several Strip resorts from MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment resumed operations. Wynn Las Vegas also was a part of the big 4 June reopening.

Now, apparently due to high demand, the Las Vegas Strip is ready to unleash more resorts to the public.

MGM Resorts has announced three additional Las Vegas Strip resorts will be opening within the next three weeks, along with one that welcomed back guests yesterday. Excalibur Hotel and Casino opened its doors yesterday for the first time since March.

Just two days before Excalibur reopened, MGM Resorts announced that three additional properties would follow suit over the next few weeks.

Luxor Hotel and Casino will be coming back to The Strip on 25 June, with Aria Resort & Casino and Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino to soon follow on 1 July. The MGM properties will abide by new safety protocols, some of which are listed below.
  • Employee screening, temperature checks and COVID-19 specific training
  • COVID-19 testing offered for employees as they return to work in partnership with the local medical community
  • Employees will be required to wear masks; Guests are strongly encouraged to wear masks, and in some settings where physical distancing is more difficult and/or barriers do not exist, will be required to do so. Examples of where masks will be required include salons, table games where physical barriers are not in place and elevators, if riding with guests outside of their travel group. Masks will be provided, free of charge
  • A physical distancing policy will be implemented, with floor guides serving as reminders
  • For areas where physical distancing presents challenges, plexiglass barriers will be installed, or other measures will be used to reduce risks
  • Standalone handwashing stations designed by MGM Resorts conveniently located on casino floors
  • Contactless Check-In through the MGM Resorts App allows hotel guests to go through the check-in process on their personal devices, minimizing interactions
  • Guestroom Attendants wear masks and gloves while cleaning each room and will change gloves between guestrooms

Today, The LINQ Hotel + Experience gets back into action opening its gaming floor and some select amenities. The Strip resort will allow the below venues to reopen today.
