Japan Gaming Congress 2015 dates confirmed

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Clarion Events has announced that the second Japan Gaming Congress (JgC) will take place in October in Tokyo, with the country’s politicians currently preparing to debate significant legislative changes for the industry.

Confirmation of the event, which will take place from Oct. 7-9, has come at an exciting time for the gaming sector in Japan.

For the first time, a bill that could lead to the country allowing casino-style gambling in designated integrated resorts (IRs), is due to be deliberated by Japan’s Parliament, the Diet.

In the context of high-level discussions surrounding the IR model and its possible implementation, JgC will provide a timely platform for national and international operators to analyse the potential of the Japanese market as well as Asia and beyond.

The focus of the event will be on identifying and implementing an IR model that will maximise benefits for all parties, including operators and the Japanese economy, whilst promoting the importance of responsible gaming.

This year’s event will build on the inaugural JgC last May, which featured top speakers such as Koichi Hagiuda, Member of the House of Representatives for the Liberal Democratic Party; Las Vegas Sands President and Chief Operating Officer Michael Leven; MGM Resorts International Chairman and CEO Jim Murren; and Thomas Arasi, President, Chief Operating Officer and Board Director of Bloomberry Resorts and Hotels.
