Judges named for G2E's Casino Design Awards 2012

12 June 2012

LAS VEGAS -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Global Gaming Expo (G2E) and Global Gaming Business magazine (GGB) today announced the judges for the 2012 G2E Casino Design Awards. The Casino Design Award is the most prestigious honor available to architects, designers and builders in the casino gaming industry.

The judges for the 2012 Awards are:
- Michael Adams, editor-in-chief, Hospitality Design
- Robert Maricich, CEO, International Market Center Las Vegas
- Richard Paulos, former partner, co-CEO and executive vice president, The Jerde Partnership
- David Schwartz, director, University Of Nevada, Las Vegas Center For Gaming Research
- Katherine Spilde, associate professor, San Diego State University, School Of Hospitality and Tourism Management

G2E's Casino Design Awards are returning after a three-year hiatus and will be presented at this year's G2E, which will be held October 1-4, 2012 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. Global Gaming Business magazine, publishers of the annual Casino Design magazine, is responsible for organizing this year's awards program.

"The advisory board for the Casino Design Awards chose five very prominent judges for this year's program," said Courtney Muller, senior vice president for Reed Exhibitions, which along with the American Gaming Association (AGA) produces G2E. "Their wide range of expertise in all facets of design, construction, operation and other gaming-related disciplines will ensure that each nomination gets a fair and thorough hearing, resulting in truly qualified winners in all categories."

"All of the judges have a deep involvement in casino design from many different perspectives," said Roger Gros, publisher of Global Gaming Business. "We believe their choices for finalists and eventual winners will reflect that diversity and mirror the respect they have for their roles and their crafts. We would like to thank Jane Lee from American Project Management for helping to coordinate the judging process."

Any architecture, design or construction firm involved in the process of developing a casino resort (or a renovation of one) is eligible to submit those projects for nomination.
