Michael Mizrachi wins WSOP Main Event and earns Poker Hall of Fame induction

17 July 2025

(PRESS RELEASE) -- After one of the most dominant performances in World Series of Poker Main Event history, Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi is the WSOP 2025 Main Event Champion and the newest member of the Poker Hall of Fame. Mizrachi leveraged his decisive chip lead from Day One of the Main Event Final Table to go the distance and claim the first-place prize from the largest total prize pool in Main Event history at $90,535,500. Mizrachi takes home $10 million and the WSOP Main Event bracelet valued at $500,000.

Following this historic win, the newly crowned Main Event champion was surprised at the Final Table by a group of Poker Hall of Fame members, including Phil Ivey, Jennifer Harman, Brian Rast, Phil Hellmuth, and John Hennigan. The group informed the now eight-time WSOP bracelet winner that the living members of the Poker Hall of Fame convened a vote under emergency motion that resulted in a near-unanimous decision (31 yes, one abstention, one unable to be reached) for him to become the 65th member of the Poker Hall of Fame, effectively immediately.

The nomination follows Mizrachi’s historic achievements, which include him winning his fourth Poker Players Championship and the WSOP Main Event in the same summer.

“Mizrachi has done the unthinkable, winning the two most difficult tournaments in the same summer,” said WSOP Chief Executive Officer Ty Stewart. “The WSOP would like to officially welcome The Grinder to the Gallery of Champions and the Poker Hall of Fame.”

Down to just three big blinds on Day 8 of Main Event play, Mizrachi faced overwhelming odds to claim this historic win. But from that low point, he surged with newfound momentum, delivering what could be considered one of the most dominant bracelet-clinching performances in poker history. Eliminating two of the final four players in the first two hands on Day 2 of the Final Table, he secured the championship in just 24 total hands.
