Piccioli Wins WSOP Online $500 NLH Turbo Deepstack

12 July 2021

The 2021 World Series of Poker Online continued Monday with Event #12: $500 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo Deepstack, which saw 654 players who rebought 305 times to create a 959-entry field and a $431,550 prize pool.

After just seven hours of play, poker pro Bryan "Pellepelle" Piccioli emerged victorious to capture the $83,332.30 top prize and his second gold bracelet. It comes more than eight years after his first when he won the 2013 WSOP Asia-Pacific Event #1: A$1,100 NLH Accumulator. He also won a WSOPC gold ring in a WSOP.com Online Circuit event back in February 2020.

Piccioli, who won $1.675 million for finishing sixth in the 2017 WSOP Main Event, had more than $4.5 million in live lifetime earnings according to The Hendon Mob.

Piccioli's road to victory including a tough final table with four different former WSOP Main Event finalists, himself included.

The top 143 finishers made the money including Event #11 runner-up Felix "madenspauwke" Vandeput (11th - $4,574), Katie "Katelin" Lindsay (18th - $2,891), Gershon "jets613" Distenfeld (38th - $1,640), Shannon "Aulophobia" Shorr (48th - $1,424), Daniel "DNegs" Negreanu (62nd - $1,208), Ian "apokerjoker2" Steinman (72nd - $1,079), and Ryan "BiTC0iN" Riess (98th - $820).

Given the fast and shallow nature of the tournament, it didn't take long for Jason "qigong" Werrell to bow out in ninth place after his ace-four failed to hold against the king-eight suited of Darren "darrenelias" Elias. Not long after, 2018 WSOP Main Event third-place finisher Michael "helionic" Dyer busted in eight losing with king-six against the jacks of Piccioli.

Piccioli then got lucky with king-deuce to crack the queens of "Aceofspades3" before Elias took care of Matthew "peepeepoopoo" Paoletti when his eight-seven suited made a flush against ace-ten.

Despite winning that hand, Elias was the next to go after his king-queen failed to get luck against Piccioli's Big Slick. From there, Ye "yuan365" Yuan, who finished third in Event #1: $500 Big 500 Kick-Off for $46,144 and last December placed fifth in the WSOP Domestic Main Event for $286,963, ran queen-eight smack dab into the aces of Daniel "spleen" Fellner to exit in fourth place for $25,893.

Fellner then lost with ace-jack to the pocket kings of Piccioli, who began heads-up play with a seven-million chip lead over Dan "Feeltheflow" Sindelar, who finished seventh in the 2014 WSOP Main Event for more than $1.2 million.

Sindelar managed a double to take the chip lead, but Piccioli bounced back by doubling with Big Slick against ten-eight suited. Two hands later, Piccioli put the final nail in Sindelar's coffin.

Final Table Results

1 Bryan "Pellepelle" Piccioli $83,332
2 Dan "Feeltheflow" Sindelar $51,527
3 Daniel "spleen" Fellner $36,293
4 Ye "yuan365" Yuan $25,893
5 Darren "darrenelias" Elias $18,729
6 Matthew "peepeepoopoo" Paoletti $13,723
7 "Aceofspades3" $10,228
8 Michael "helionic" Dyer $7,725
9 Jason "qigong" Werrell $5,912
