PokerTek, receives certification

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- PokerTek, Inc. (NASDAQ:PTEK) is proud to announce that Gaming Laboratories International has certified the PokerPro Heads-Up gaming system. Under this certification, the PokerPro Heads-Up system has met the following standards:

-GLI-13 On-line Monitoring and Control Systems (MCS) and Validation Systems

-GLI-16 Cashless Systems in Casinos

-GLI-24 Electronic Table Game System

-Applicable sections of GLI-11 Gaming Devices in Casinos

This marks the second Electronic Poker table certification to the newly released GLI-24 Electronic Table Game system by Gaming Laboratories International for PokerTek. The initial certification related to the PokerPro system, the original 10-seated electronic poker table system. That certification was issued on October 4th 2006.

Additionally, the PokerPro Heads-Up system is certified as fully compliant for on-line monitoring of real time events, accounting, reporting, security, and cashless gaming, marking this table a complete turnkey solution for the poker industry.

The PokerPro Heads-Up system is the World's first automated two-seated poker table. By using only 20% of the floor space of a traditional table and dealing more hands an hour than any other poker table, the PokerPro Heads-Up table has been designed to overcome some of the inherent inefficiencies in manually dealing heads-up poker at traditional tables. As such, it provides casinos the opportunity to offer heads-up poker in a more profitable manner.
