Raceway Park GM named

TOLEDO, Ohio -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Penn National Gaming, Inc. (Nasdaq: PENN) announced today that subject to regulatory approval, William M. McLaughlin was named General Manager of its Raceway Park facility in Toledo, OH, effective October 30, 2007.

With over 20 years of experience in the racing industry, William McLaughlin has served in various senior management positions, including Vice President of Ladbroke/USA, where he played a key role in initiating legislation resulting in the first simulcast races in Texas and in supervising the restructuring of off-track wagering facilities in Pennsylvania. In addition to his role at Ladbroke/USA, Mr. McLaughlin served as Director of Operations for Sport Systems at Wheeling Downs Racetrack & Casino, where he initiated programs to significantly grow on-track wagering while enacting meaningful cost savings. Over a three year period during his career, he turned around Michigan's only thoroughbred track from an annual loss to operating profitably. Mr. McLaughlin most recently served as founder of Racing and Gaming Resources, a consulting firm specializing in the racing, gaming and entertainment industries. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire and serves on various boards.
