Shaun Deeb wins 2025 WSOP Player of the Year title

17 July 2025

(PRESS RELEASE) -- During the 2025 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas, Shaun Deeb cashed in eighteen live bracelet events, six online bracelet events, reached five final tables, and won his seventh career WSOP bracelet in the $100,000 Pot Limit Omaha High Roller ($2,957,229 top prize).

While winning over $4 million in total tournament winnings is certainly an accomplishment in its own right, by far the biggest achievement for Deeb this summer was winning the 2025 WSOP Player of the Year award, the second time the poker pro has received the honor.

By locking up the 2025 WSOP Player of the Year title, Deeb receives the WSOP Player of the Year trophy, entry into the 2026 WSOP Main Event, and his second banner in the rafters of the Horseshoe Las Vegas Event Center.

Only the second player in history to win WSOP Player of the Year twice, winning the title in 2018 and now 2025, Deeb joins Daniel Negreanu (2004, 2013) as being the only two players to achieve the feat.

Even when Deeb’s poker prowess made his Player of the Year run seem easy at times, it took until the final day of action for him to lock up the title. In a highly contentious three-way race with $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Mini Main Event winner Martin Kabrhel and Benny Glaser, who won three WSOP bracelets during the 2025 series, Deeb was able to go the distance and win one of the most prestigious titles in poker for the second time.

Once he officially locked up the title, the now two-time WSOP Player of the Year winner took to Twitter/X and congratulated both Glaser and Kabrhel on a well fought battle.

“We did it boys and girls,” Deeb tweeted. “great battle between Martin and Benny they battled to the last tourney”

Congratulations once again to Shaun Deeb on the major achievement of winning his second WSOP Player of the Year award.
