SIGMA Courses Start this Fall

ATLANTIC CITY, News Jersey – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Inaugural courses for the highly anticipated Stockton Institute for Gaming Management (SIGMA) begin this fall at the Carnegie Center in Atlantic City. The first class is scheduled for October 5, 2006.

SIGMA, a venture of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and Spectrum Gaming Group, will meet the management training needs of the gaming industry by offering a certificate-based program of specialized courses. The courses offered through the remainder of this year include:

Gaming Industry: Status and Trends

October 5, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Instructor: Michael Pollock, MBA

Gaming Management and Leadership

November 2, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Instructor: John Ceresani, BA, JD

Public Relations and Crisis Management

November 9, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Instructor: Michael Pollock, MBA

Financial and Managerial Accounting in the Gaming Industry

December 5, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Instructor: Jean Abbott, MBA, CPA

Future SIGMA courses will be offered in other gaming jurisdictions as well as in concert with Spectrum's nationally renowned gaming industry conferences.

"The Stockton Institute of Gaming Management will help the industry identify, cultivate and equip leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to meet today's challenges and enhance their careers and capabilities," said Dr. Israel Posner, Executive Director of Corporate and Professional Services at Stockton College. "Attendees will earn a respected academic certificate that demonstrates their achievement, and they will expand their network and learn from peers," added Dr. Lewis Leitner, Executive Director of Management Training and Development.

The Institute's mission is to enhance the overall performance of the gaming industry by strengthening leadership, managerial and supervisory skills. As a result, attendees will enhance their opportunities for promotion as they fine-tune their leadership and operating skills and gain an understanding of the industry as a whole.
