SIGMA Launches Casino Manager Program

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Stockton Institute for Gaming Management (SIGMA), is launching a comprehensive program to help the casino industry meet the growing demand for skilled, knowledgeable managers.

SIGMA, formed by The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and Spectrum Gaming Group, will meet the management training needs of the gaming industry by offering a certificate-based program of specialized courses. SIGMA will help the industry identify, cultivate and equip leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to meet today's challenges and enhance their careers and capabilities.

The SIGMA Advisory Council has been formed to help identify management needs and to help the program meets those needs. Organizations represented include Mohegan Sun, Trump Entertainment Resorts, Tropicana Casino and Resort, Resorts International, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Sands Hotel and Casino, and Global Gaming Business magazine. For information on joining the council, contact Dr. Lewis Leitner or Dr. Israel Posner of Stockton College at 609-652-4227. SIGMA leaders will meet in coming weeks to review the content in customized courses for their organizations. SIGMA courses will be taught at the Carnegie Library Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In addition, customized versions of these and other courses will be developed for on-site training.

-- Financial and Managerial Accounting, Analysis and Auditing

Electives include:

-- Surveillance Operations and Bottom-Line Impact

-- Advances in Gaming Technology

-- Security and Risk Management

-- Marketing and Promotional Strategies

-- Slot, Table Game Management

-- Regulatory Issues

-- Crisis Management for Gaming Executives

-- Non-Gaming Revenue: Opportunities, Challenges

Instructors will include Stockton faculty, experienced executives, and Spectrum Gaming Group specialists from a variety of disciplines.
