This Week in Gambling: Some Vegas casinos closed through summer 2021

Many Las Vegas casinos have reopened following the coronavirus shut down. However, several Sin City favorites are still closed, with plans to keep them shuttered until at least June of next year. In online gambling news we also discuss the newest online casino in America, and it's probably not where you would think.

The Boyd Gaming's casino will request gaming licenses to be placed in non-operational status during Tuesday's Henderson City Council meeting. Station Casinos recently requested and received approval for the same license status for three properties.

According to documents filed with Henderson City Council, Eldorado Casino will request gaming licenses to be placed in non-operational status during Tuesday's council meeting, FOX5 reports. If approved, the casino would be able to keep its licenses while remaining closed through June 2021.

Boyd Gaming is requesting to remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "When a decision is made to reopen the property, we will submit a reopening plan prior to reopening," a letter to the city council read. "We look forward to working with the City of Henderson on reopening the property safely and in compliance with all applicable requirements at a future date."
