Three Wild Rose casinos open sportsbooks

(PRESS RELEASE) -- DraftKings Inc. and Wild Rose Casino & Resort announced today the opening of three Wild Rose Sportsbooks powered by DraftKings at each of the Wild Rose Casino & Resort locations in Jefferson, Emmetsburg and Clinton, Iowa. The newest sportsbooks add to DraftKings’ already impressive lineup of state-of-the-art retail locations in New York, New Jersey and Mississippi. Each location will be outfitted with betting kiosks and large videowalls providing an innovative retail sports betting experience that is sure to be a destination for Iowa sports fans and those in the surrounding region.

The DraftKings Sportsbooks at Wild Rose will bring an immersive and entertaining gaming experience for customers. Each location will feature a large videowall displaying games, a mix of smaller TVs, odds boards and a scrolling ticker with live score updates, stats and other player information. Fans will be able to place wagers at three ticket windows, including one at the cashier in each casino, and six self-service betting kiosks in each of the sportsbooks.

Sports bettors in Iowa will be able to place bets on all major U.S. sports, including: professional and college football, baseball, professional and college basketball, hockey, golf, auto racing and much more seven days a week. The hours of operation at each sportsbook will vary by location.

An important distinction in Iowa is that sportsbooks are not permitted to accept player proposition wagers involving an Iowa university or college. This regulation also extends to the opponents in games with Iowa schools. Pre-match and in-game wagering on Iowa schools and their opponents is permitted.

DraftKings and Wild Rose will partner to bring DraftKings’ successful mobile and online sportsbook to Iowa. Once the app is live, Iowa’s sports betting law requires anyone who wants to set up a mobile account to register in person at one of the casinos. The in-person registration requirement expires on Jan. 1, 2021. Meanwhile, customers are encouraged to download the DraftKings Sportsbook app on Android and IOS devices to view the latest offerings and content.
