Tropicana Atlantic City announces debut of Royal Derby

(PRESS RELEASE) -- On Monday, Tropicana Atlantic City Casino & Resort became the first casino east of the Rocky Mountains to launch Royal Derby, an innovative horse racing game from Alfastreet.

Alfastreet products are manufactured and distributed by KGM Gaming, the exclusive supplier in the United States. The ten-player electronic game can be found in Tropicana's North Tower casino, just outside of 10 North Lounge.

This one-of-a-kind game captures all the excitement of live racing at the horse track with six mechanical horses and jockeys, an integrated sound system and special sound effects. The unique table layout places players around an authentically-detailed center racetrack, creating a unique social environment that encourages player interaction.

"There is currently nothing else like this game on the market," said Tropicana General Manager Steve Callender. "By introducing leading edge games like Royal Derby to our lineup, Tropicana gives players MORE."

The realistic horse race game challenges players to predict which horse will cross the finish line first, or which group of horses will finish in the top three positions. Through individual stations, Royal Derby players have access to information on each horse's strengths, weaknesses and past performances, much like racing forms at a live horse track. Players can use this information, together with varying race distance and weather conditions, to place the perfect bet.

The game's center-track design gives all players a clear view of the field. Each race is also filmed with a moving camera, and a real-time feed is displayed at every player terminal.
