World Poker Tour Five Diamond returns to Bellagio this October

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The World Poker Tour returns to Bellagio for the 20th time in October for the WPT® Five Diamond Poker Classic. The entire festival runs from 7-23 October, with the Main Event taking place 19-23 October. The Main Event will be a $10,400 buy-in with a $5,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

This year’s festival schedule is highlighted by a slate of No-Limit Hold’em High Roller events: two $50,000 buy-in events, with one at the beginning and the other at the end of the full schedule, as well as a $25,000 buy-in event sandwiched in between on October 10.

WPT Five Diamond is the longest-standing recurring WPT tournament, taking place at Bellagio since 2002. It has endured the test of time, and holds unique historical significance as the starting point for the World Poker Tour.

Since the inaugural WPT Main Tour stop at Bellagio in 2002, WPT events at the venue have amassed over $120 Million in prize pools across all held tournaments. Poker legends Gus Hansen, Daniel Negreanu, Dan Smith, Antonio Esfandiari, and more have all added their names to the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup through their respective victories at WPT Five Diamond.

As with all other WPT Main Tour festivals in WPT Season XX, entrants into all events in the schedule will be eligible for WPT’s Player of the Festival leaderboard, which awards a $1,100 WPT Prime Passport to the player with the most points over the course of each tournament festival.
