World Poker Tour to hold events at The Venetian Las Vegas in 2021

(PRESS RELEASE) -- World Poker Tour today announced the Season XVIII WPT Venetian, taking place from 5-9 March 2021, at The Venetian Las Vegas. The event features a $5,000 buy-in and a $1.5 million guaranteed prize pool.

The event marks the return of the WPT Main Tour to the live arena in Las Vegas for the first time since 2019. The WPT and The Venetian Resort are partnering for a second WPT event at the historic venue that follows-up the Season XVII WPT at Venetian event in March 2019.

The winner of this event will receive points toward the Hublot WPT Player of the Year race, their name on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup, and a $15,000 seat to the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions, presented by Baccarat Crystal.

In addition, WPTDeepStacks returns to the United States with two events scheduled at The Venetian in 2021. WPTDeepStacks Venetian kicks off the new year with a $1,600 buy-in from 29 January 29 to 1 February, as part of the DeepStack Showdown Series, with a $500,000 guarantee. The entire festival will have more than $1 million in guarantees and starts on 18 January. The second WPTDeepStacks event at The Venetian will take place at a to be determined date.

WPTDeepStacks Venetian will be eligible for the WPTDeepStacks North America Player of the Year race featuring $15,000 in total prizes, and the winner will receive a $3,000 package toward the WPTDeepStacks Championship.

The WPT is committed to the safety of its players and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, The Venetian Resort is operating under its Venetian Clean Commitment, featuring more than 800 initiatives to enhance safety and minimize risk for guests, players, and team members. In The Venetian Poker Room, all players must sanitize their hands before sitting down at a table. Cleaning protocols are also in place to address the ongoing sanitization of chips, transparent dividers, poker cards, shufflers, etc. The state of Nevada requires face masks to be worn in all areas, including the Poker Room.
