Murals are painted every day that end up fading or peeling off walls due to muralists not understanding the complex issues that directly impact a murals longevity. The only way to ensure that your mural will last, is to hire someone who is not only excellent at creating dynamic and beautiful murals, but is an expert at evaluating substrates to determine the best possible materials and techniques to use on each wall. Having worked in the construction industry for a few years, I learned that it is vitally important to understand how environmental conditions directly impact concrete and wood surfaces. These conditions can and will cause an improperly painted mural to deteriorate right in front of your eyes. Not a single mural that I’ve painted has faded, cracked or peeled regardless of the weather, its location or the ground that it’s painted on.
