In this week's issue of The Repository newsletter (which is thorough and informative as always!), it mentions that I was interviewed on the @nathanwrigley.com on Bluesky podcast and said that Angie had reached 30,000 installs on the repo. Well actually, Angie is now at 60,000 installs! That interview took place four weeks ago, and since then the number of installs has doubled - which just goes to show how fast things move when they're related to AI 😅 The rest of what I said is still thankfully still accurate, although since the interview we launched Super Admin Mode which is a big leap in Angie's capabilities and speed. The Angie team doesn't stop, and now you can activate Super Admin Mode to get the most out of AI in your WordPress site. Super Admin Mode can execute PHP, make database changes, and access your file system, i.e. it's a highly capable developer working by your side. Obviously this means that one wrong move and it can mess things up (just like a human dev), so we highly recommend using Super Admin Mode (can we call it SAM? 🙂) on a staging or local site. When you ask an AI to undo a change, it reconstructs what it thinks you had. That's close, but not the same - a layout detail shifts, a behavior changes slightly, and you're prompting to fix the difference. Elementor Day happened because someone asked "can we do a Version 4 workshop at WordCamp Europe?" Problem: speaker applications were already closed. So we tried something I'd been thinking about - a mini Elementor conference the day before WordCamp. People are already in town, why not spend a half day learning about V4, Angie, and Sticklight, and connect with the team. Imran Siddiq joined to share his story and connection to Elementor. People engaged, asked great questions, and we wrapped with dinner. The experiment worked. After a successful first-time Elementor Day event, WordCamp Europe is kicking off now with Contributor Day! Excited to spend the day contributing to WordPress, the biggest open source project powering the web. There's a category of WordPress site work that happens beyond the WP Admin dashboard - database operations, file-level edits, PHP one-liners that need to run once.
