Mondo Virtuale entered the world of AWP (Amusement-With-Payout) as soon as the first Italian AWP legislation came into force in 1995. From the outset, the company has provided a range of services that encompasses not only cabinet rental, but also the manufacture of card-ready cabinets for AWPs. Indeed, early on, the company was proud to unveil the cabinet they called " La Plus Belle ", which was rapturously received by the industry thanks to its hopper casing and payout dispenser.

Following changes to Italian law in 2000 - which plunged the entire industry into crisis - Mondo Virtuale decided to diversify its manufacturing operations. Initially, the company focused on producing its first videogame cards while continuing to outsource hardware and software operations.

In 2001, the need for an in-house software development center led Mondo Virtuale to recruit new software specialists, who started work on AWP and Newslot software solutions for the most popular hardware platform on the market.

Mondo Virtuale was awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification several years before it became compulsory, and the company recently became one of the first in Italy to be authorized by the State Monopoly to produce games software for Newslot 2.
