NABI is a national Native American sporting event organization. Our mission is to use sports as a tool to create college scholarship opportunities for Native American high school athletes. Established in 2003, NABI first introduced the Native American Basketball Invitational sponsored by the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury & Nike. It quickly grew into the largest all Native American tournament, comprised of high school athletes, in North America and the first Native American tournament to become NCAA certified. 86 teams participated in the 2008 basketball tournament, with our numbers growing every year. In 2008, NABI introduced NABI Baseball & Softball, in partnership with the Arizona Diamondbacks. It hosted 44 teams and is following in the success of the NABI basketball tournament.
