MGM Grand at Foxwoods picks MICROS system

12 June 2008

COLUMBIA, Maryland -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- MICROS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions to the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce that the MGM Grand at Foxwoods(R) has selected the MICROS 9700 point-of-sale solution for its food and beverage operation. In addition, all of the leased outlets within the MGM Grand at Foxwoods(R), including Alta Strada, Junior's Restaurant and Coffee Bar, Shrine, Craftsteak, and The Food Market have selected the MICROS RES 4.0 point-of-sale solution. This new luxury property opened in May 2008.

The MGM Grand at Foxwoods(R) includes an 825-room hotel, 4,000-seat grand theater, a convention center and ballroom, nightclubs, and 1,500 more slot machines. To accommodate this new property, Foxwoods increased its current MICROS 9700 solution by 50 terminals to a total of 270 terminals. This enterprise solution, which includes the mymicros.net web-based reporting tool, allows Foxwoods to receive real-time business intelligence about its operations. By deploying MICROS RES 4.0 in all of the leased outlets within the property, there is seamless integration to Foxwoods many casino interfaces, such as player tracking and the hotel property management system.

"We have been very pleased with the advanced technology and efficiency of MICROS 9700 and mymicros.net," stated Brian Charette, Vice President of Information Systems at Foxwoods Resort Casino. "By deploying MICROS throughout our enterprise, including the MGM expansion and the leased outlets, we get a true 360 degree view of our operations. This allows us to address needs quickly and offer an exceptional guest experience to our clientele."

"Foxwoods has been a key MICROS customer for over a decade," stated Jenny Kurdle, Executive Vice President, Leisure & Entertainment Business Unit for MICROS Systems, Inc. "MICROS 9700 is specifically designed to allow for large scale additions like the MGM Grand at Foxwoods(R). We are proud of our successful and long-term partnership with Foxwoods, and look forward to supporting the needs of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation as it continues to grow and strengthen its operations."
